I dare say Watson, have you heard of Robert Lloyd?

In the year 2010, in a room at the Lithuanian Club a show takes place about one man and one book. The man was Robert Lloyd and the book; A Study of Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Over the years Rob has played Sherlock many times and this time, you can see by his stage presence he is happy with and enjoys telling people about it.

Rob’s first solo show, A Study in Scarlet (A Study of…) tells the tale not only of the first Sherlock Holmes book, but also of Rob’s love of that great detective.

Interjected throughout the story Rob expresses his views of Sherlock Holmes as a young boy of 12 and brings these characters to life in a passionate display of affection for those who, in his words; “Have always related to the important decisions in my life.”

With only his wit and screenshots to back him up, Rob has the audience gripped in his presence the moment he steps onto stage. With each line you can tell he has read the book time and time again. By the end of the show I was left feeling like Rob was in fact processed by Sherlock Holmes’ ghost.

The performance overall was gripping and I would suggest this for any Sherlock fan.
