What Comes After A Pause

It’s been over a year since I have posted. It was not my intention to stop, it is just that my course took high priority. Good news is that I have completed that course, and with that will come some changes.

There is a benefit to this. I took time to think about the direction of my writing. What type of writer do I want to be and what type of content do I want to produce.

One of the types of writing I fell in love with during my course was copywriting. This type of writing aims to persuade, inform, or inspire people. They want the reader to take a specific action—usually in a business or marketing context.

With the world becoming more and more online, the need for accessibility is mandatory for everyone. So with that as my in, I have had to do some reorganisation of my website. I have more than 10 years of content to sort out.

My blog now it is categorised into 3 main areas; Observations and Oddities, Syntax and Sass and Archive. The Archive is where all the content that I no longer post on here or I have migrated somewhere lives. This is because I have newsletters where that particular content lives. Observations and Oddities will be where all my freelance article writing lives about my life, weird history and occasional crime analysis.

Finally there is Syntax and Sass. This is a completely new style of content I will be posting. Aside from my freelance writing, I am going to pivot into copywriting, focusing on accessibility. I know that having lived experience helps me create accessible, thoughtfully crafted copy that prioritises clarity, care, and genuine inclusion. Under this category my aim is to post more business-aligned posts about copywriting, disability and accessibility.

I’ll be sharing more posts here on writing, accessibility, and copywriting—so stay tuned! If you have questions or want to chat about accessibility in content, drop me a message.
