Who is Tansy Bradshaw?

Hi, I am Tansy Bradshaw (they/them) and I’m a Melbourne/Naam-based writer, public speaker and comedy connoisseur. How did I get to where I am now?

Let’s rewind. As I went through school there was a need to find a vocation that I could do well without completely tiring myself out. As being disabled did make this a bit more complicated then usual.

In 2009 I took a short course in Narrative Comedy Writing at RMIT University that I found I had a flair for. This course led me to grain experience with public speaking both about my experiences as a disabled person and also writing and performing at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

The only thing that comes close to tickling my funny bone is to head down a research rabbit hole. This lead me to studying to be a library technician.

As COVID has changed the opportunities available, I have had to revaluate what I can do. Moving back to Melbourne I have come back to where I started my writing education. In 2023, I began studying an associate degree in professional writing and editing building upon my diploma. Knowing that writing nonfiction comes more naturally to me I focused on units around freelance writer, copywriting and creative nonfiction.

Currently I also publish on Medium and working on my creative nonfiction work based on the Crutchy Push.
