What can I tell you?

I was born and raised in Lakes Entrance, Victoria. I am the older of two girls; while my sister was given a tradition New Zealand family name, I was named after a flower. Well, also known as a medicinal herb which in high does can be poison. Clearly, my mother knew I was not to be messed with.

After school I moved to Melbourne in 2010, where I would earn a Diploma of  Library and Information Services. I then focused on my writing and got a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing.

While in Melbourne she immersed herself in the comedy scene.  It was through this love of stand-up that she would meet Chris Dewberry. As well as being a local comic, Chris started the Comedy Beast Magazine. I joined the team and through my time there, I interviewed people such as;  Sammy J, Tim Ferguson and Hoo-Haa Melbourne.

I have been blogging since 2010; first as LibraryGeekGirl and then later WantsAShyBard (which is an anagram for my name). Topics have included; reviewing, writing, reading and even some Shakespeare.
