T is for Timeout

is for Timeout.

As any good writer knows you have to write, every great writer knows you have to have timeout. To be able to look at the work diplomatically, it is important that you step away from your work and let it bake for at least a month.

If the words aren’t flowing then it may be an idea to step away from the desk. You could choose to do some exercise, read books about writing, spend time with your friendly furry friend or experience some other artists work.

However long it is that you need to step away from your writing, whether it be 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years – don’t stress. What is important with any writing is that it ends up being the best product you can produce, and all that takes time.
